Quality Yeast That Doesn't Break the Brink
CellarScience is helping to flip the script that dry yeast is inferior to liquid. For years liquid yeast has been sold as the higher quality option but times are changing. With advances in yeast propogation that increase intracelluar trehalose and prepare yeast cell membranes for drying, along with improvements in more gentle drying technologies, the quality difference between dry and liquid is negated. To help ensure against contamination every batch is PCR test. Additionally all sachets are packaged in a HEPA filtered room.
Cost and Convenience
All five strains of CellarScience dry yeast are prepared in a way that allows for direct pitching in worts below 16 Plato. This can be huge time savings and also eilminates the risk factors associated with propagation. At a fraction the cost of liquid yeast, still less than other dry yeasts, and offering substantial 'Direct Pitch' time savings, CellarScience really is yeast that doesn't break the brink.
High Gravity Fermenations
For fermentations starting above 16 Plato, consider using CellarScience FermStart hydration nutrient to help cell membranes properly hydrate even when faced with the osmotic pressure of high gravity worts. FermStart is rich in readily assimilable amino acids, sterols, vitamins, and natural glutathione. Readily assimilable means that the size of the molecules present in FermStart are extremely small and easily absorbed by the yeast cell. This allows the yeast cell to skip the step in which amino acids would be synthesized within the cell. This saved energy is instead directed into faster multiplication, and a faster start, that helps your yeast to out-compete bacteria or wild yeast. For mid ferment nutrient additions choose FermFed DAP Free for most all situations.
